Seminar

Title: Rethinking how we do good, who we care about and what we work on

Overview

Our seminar will run for 11 weeks in August & September 2022, with in-person classes every Saturday afternoon lasting 2 hours and pre-class readings that will require approximately 3-4 hours a week to complete. The seminar instructor will be Cecil Abungu and we will have guest talks from impressive figures.

We will spend the first 3 weeks discussing topics around rethinking how we do good, the next 3 weeks on topics designed to rethink who we care about and the final 5 weeks on some pressing problems we can work on. All topics will be covered with the lived experiences of Africans in mind.

It is mandatory for all selected fellows to take the seminar. Alongside the fellows, we intend to select 15-20 participants who will only take the seminar. The deadline to apply for the seminar is 11.59 pm EAT on July 8 2022.

Please Note

Our Seminar will be conducted in-person. We expect Seminar Participants to be available for at least 9 out of the 11 sessions while Fellows are expected to be available for at least 10 out of the 11 sessions.

In case you want to be a Seminar Participant but you think it will be difficult for you to do so due to financial constraints, please go ahead and apply! We will be able to provide some financial aid to anyone in such a situation.
